What Should You Look for in a New Cinch?
When selecting a new cinch, prioritize both your horse's comfort and your saddle’s stability. Our cinches are designed to support natural movement while ensuring the saddle stays secure. The addition of our Patent Pending Shock Absorbing Buckle System helps reduce pressure on the rib cage, allowing your horse to flex more easily during performance. With premium materials and thoughtful design, our cinches balance functionality and comfort for both horse and rider.
How Do You Measure a Cinch Properly?
For a proper fit, measure from end of buckle to end of buckle. Our cinches come in sizes 29", 31", and 33". The D-rings on either end should rest just below the widest part of your horse’s rib cage. This ensures optimal comfort and saddle security. A well-fitted cinch reduces pressure points, allows for better movement, and prevents slipping or pinching.
Available in sizes 29", 31", and 33" — measured from end of buckle to end of buckle.
Innovative Features for Modern Riders
Our new line of front cinches features our Patent Pending Shock Absorbing Buckle System, designed to provide greater freedom and comfort during movement. Whether your horse is turning, stopping, or driving forward, this system helps their rib cage flex naturally – without compromising saddle security.
On the underside of the cinch, we've added spacer material – a high-performance fabric that is:
- Anti-bacterial
- Moisture-wicking
- Odour-resistant
This not only promotes hygiene and comfort for your horse, but also makes cleaning easier for riders working with multiple horses. Checkout a video on Saddle fitting here for more explanation.
FAQ
What is a Front Cinch?
A front cinch is an essential piece of Western tack that helps keep the saddle securely in place by wrapping around the horse’s barrel, just behind the front legs. It connects to the saddle using latigo and off-billet straps on either side. Positioned just below the widest part of the rib cage, a properly fitted front cinch ensures both rider safety and horse comfort. Modern front cinches, like ours, often include advanced features such as shock-absorbing buckle systems and high-performance materials to support natural movement and reduce discomfort during riding.
